Cairns, 27th July, 2017 – A number of key road, recreational and lifestyle infrastructure projects in the local area are due for completion in the latter half of 2017.
With a combined value of more than $65 million dollars, sales agent for Red Peak Forest Estate, Grant Stone believes it has never been a better time to consider a new home in the local area.
“It is exciting to see work progressing quickly to improve vehicle access and flow of traffic along the Western Arterial / Brinsmead Kamerunga road.
“The duplication of the Bill Fulton Bridge for 700 metres will improve safety and traffic flow by removing a notorious pinch point between Brinsmead and Redlynch. Work is scheduled to be completed later this year.”
Construction is also underway on the $3.8 million safety initiative at Caravonica State Primary School to build a 100-bay car park, removing the need for students and parents to cross the road.
Improvements to the Lake Placid Recreation Area is also a win for local residents. “The work to beautify this highly used park has been a long time coming, but it is really spectacular now,” he adds.
The Master Plan [view here] has focused on maintaining the natural character of the precinct while reshaping and embellishing the site to enable improved visitor experiences and opportunities.
“There are upgraded toilet facilities, boardwalks and all access ramps, a grassed amphitheatre, and great new interpretive signage. It ticks all the boxes for family, getting outdoors and enjoying the natural environment,” Grant says.
As for dining, Grant says to watch this space closely with Smithfield’s $29 million outdoor dining precinct and VMAX cinemas set to open soon.
The development will deliver a new entertainment experience for the community providing access to a six screen Event Cinema complex including Vmax and the latest DOLBY ATMOS audio technology along with dining options in an alfresco, outdoor setting.
