Cairns, 21st November, 2013 – Red Peak Forest Estate will this month formally release more than 50 blocks of land in a move that is set to underpin the continued revival of the Cairns property market.
Red Peak Forest Estate developer Anthony Oberdan said the land, which forms part of the prestigious master planned community at Caravonica, was the single largest release of land in Red Peak for more than five years.
“What we are seeing at the moment is a real shortage of good quality land in desirable and highly sought locations.
“These blocks provide an outstanding opportunity for purchasers to build the home of their dreams in an area that offers the potential for capital growth combined with lifestyle and the convenience of nearby amenities such as schools and shopping centres.”
He said initial interest in the two stages – 10A and Six – had been very high as confidence returned to the market driven by low interest rates, a change in government and an improvement in the local economy.
“The two stages are very different and will appeal to two different buyers. Stage 10A is positioned in a great location close to the recreational lake and parklands and is likely to attract upgraders or entry-level purchasers with land starting from $180,000.”
With incredible views of the Northern Beaches, Green Island and to the South of Cairns, Stage Six has been developed on the site of an old quarry and is likely to attract buyers looking to build in the million-dollar range.
“This land really does offer it all. A mountainous rainforest backdrop and large benched blocks, which arguably boast the best views and location in the region.”
Mr Oberdan said while they had finalised work on the two stages, planning was also underway to further develop the next stages of the estate with construction to commence in the new year.
This will incorporate another 130 blocks and will be completed in a number of stages.
Mr Oberdan believed the key to the success of Red Peak Forest Estate was their commitment to quality development and the protection of the location’s natural beauty.
“My family have owned this land since the 1980s and have put their heart and soul into everything you see here today,” he added.
“There are kilometres of walking tracks, we are less than five minutes from Lake Placid, and only a 15-minute drive to the CBD and 10 minutes to the airport.
“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved here at Red Peak. We have set the benchmark when it comes to real estate developments in the tropics and in doing so have created an enviable lifestyle for those wishing to live here,” he added.
